A perfect summer afternoon outfit....

I have a real addiction to white linen pants...I own like 5 pairs.  I love wearing them after work in the summer or on the beach.  Here is a perfect summer outfit starting with a pair of linen pants and a flower smoking tube top, perfect balance between tight and loose. Linen pants are super versatile and can be dressed up or worn casually with flip flops. Anyway you do it....it's a great effortless look.

To Matte or Not to Matte?

Hi all....I know I haven't blogged in a while.  It's been a super busy few months and I can finally get back in the swing of things.  "To Matte or Not to Matte?" is from a fellow blogger herself and a friend.... this is a good one and she will be contributing to my blog once in a while.

I must admit, my obsession with nail polishes became aparent to me last summer when I did a pedicure in every bright color under the sun all throughtout the months of June, July and August.  Once my painted toe nails were done I would pick some bright color, not necessarily matchy matchy for my hands.  The joy I got from seeing my nails all bright and shiney.. I LOVED IT.  At some point in the summer I was introduced to matte nail polish.  I hated the look, no shine - no way!  When I bought a few polishes that were matte (by mistake of course) I would quickly put some clear polish to make then shiney! On my recent pintrest adventures I see the mattee look is in.. could it be?  I think I like them now.. check out these cool polishes - I love these looks.  What do you think?  To matte or not to matte?

Love pleats?

I know it's been a week since I've last blogged.. Its been a busy week and I have a lot of fashion on my mind. I was thinking about how much I love pleats. I use to have a love/hate relationship with pleats since its so hard to keep them in line (literally). I hate wearing pleats to work since as soon as I sit down it become one winkled mess. But they definitely bring back the memory of school uniform days, when my mom use to spend a good deal of time ironing my uniform so that my pleats are perfectly aligned. I was definitely the neatest child in school everyday. My mother....

Here are some pleated looks I love. A total reformation from school uniforms. Don't you think?

Pretty Pastels

Spring is here and it's time to bring out the pastels.  Pastels provide for the ultimate feminine look, with the light shades of pink, blue and green.  It's also very romantic and works well for date night outfits.

Two of my favorite pastel looks are seen below.

I love the pairing of a neutral/beige shirt with a pastel top, I think it gives the ultimate soft romantic look.

Parisian inspired attire

Lately I've been in love with French fashion. This could be because fashion week in Paris just ended but I love how French women have maintained this chic sophisticated look for decades. They have been the pioneers of fashion from Chanel to Ives saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton to Givenchy. They're skilled at wearing the wardrobe essentials stylishly as well as defining their personal fashion style.

You can easily notice their graceful sophistication even if they are faking it. Check out some of my favorite French style inspirations! I've always loved how they accessorize with beautifully tied scarves.

Color Me Bold

This year COLOR is in! I live in NYC so fashion surrounds me..I've seen a lot of women walking around these streets with bright bold colors even NEON is in.  A word to the wise..if you see a yellow dress or a green pant even a bright color accessory, don't pass it by.  You don't wanna pass up an opportunity to become a fashion star.  Try some of these combinations...

A Neon Doily? who would have thought..I would have saved them from my mom's kitchen table if I knew you could do this with it.

The perfect yellow dress...don't be afraid to accessorize with other bold colors as well...it definitely makes a statement.

Green Pants? Yes folks, they're back. Now if only I could fit into the ones I had from High School :-(

Think Pink?

Lately, everywhere I go I see women wearing hot pink. This shade of pink is great because it adds a splash of color to your outfit and a feminine touch. I definitely think pink has made a come back in the past few years and has become very trendy. "There's an innate optimism to pink," says designer Jonathan Adler. "As we speak, I'm wearing a hot pink shirt.

I love the hint of pink in this top...adds the perfect feminine touch

Pink pants, who would have thought? perfect combo.

and lastly...this is one of my favorite outfits...

Tom Binns Neon Necklace

So answer me this, how much are you lusting over these Tom Binn’s necklaces? I don’t know if it’s just the beautiful bright colors or that they fill a small void that’s been in my heart since I gave up my tye dye shirt but I’m all about the neon trend right now & this jewelry makes my heart pitter patter!

Kelly Ripa has been wearing the necklace everyday on her talk show and I admired it from afar every single time I watch the show.

For the love of Missoni

There is something about Missoni that I love, the bold prints and the zig-zag pattern has won my heart.  Here are some of my favorites pieces.

I want this Missoni dress, I must say she is perfectly styled with her bold pink shawl as well. Very well put together.

The perfect mini...with a crisp white shirt tucked it.

Let's talk stripe

Everywhere I go I see stripes, I guess the nautical theme is in! The stripes seems to make a bold statement as long as your wear them right and in moderation, you don't want to end up looking like a flag, unless it's Independence day of course.

Check out Kourtney Kardashian in a perfect stripe mini paired with a neutral shirt..just divine!

One of my favorite stripe pieces is this J. Crew Maxi dress, I bought this last year and they brought it back...I got my money's worth on this one, although they didn't lower the price from last year it's still a great buy at $98.

Here's another great stripe option, this dress is very versatile and classic.

La Mer Watches

Did you know that La Mer has a watch collection? Well, I recently saw an ad for them and decided to check it out. I must say I am pleasantly surprised that the company that became famous for their miracle face cream is now making watches...it's like Mitsubishi...do I trust a company that makes cars and TV's? Hmmmmmm... With that said, I am delighted with what I see. These watches offer a lot of versatility and style and I believe the mechanics of the watch is made by Seiko, knowing that it's made by a watch company I may consider buying one. I myself love style but not more than quality.

Here are some of my favorite pieces in their collections...This Python strap chain watch is gorgeous.

This is the purchase I believe I am going to make..the price is right at only $88 and I have a special place in my heart for vintage oversized watches, it's a MUST have for every woman's wardrobe!

Accessorizing

Every lady knows the right accessories can make or break an outfit!  Finding the outfit is often the easy part. Finding the accessories can be tricky, and the accessories make the look. Yet so many of us forget to put as much thought into accessorizing our clothing as we do into the clothing itself. That may be due to fashion laziness.  And there's nothing quite like ruining it with the absolute wrong shoes, too much jewelry, or a scarf that makes you look like a cow.  This year, gold is IN!!

Check out this perfectly accessorized outfit.  The belt and the shoes are a subtle shade of tan and the earrings are large yet delicate to complete the outfit.  The key here is not overdoing it, this is one of my fav's, I must admit.

I love the stackable bracelet idea, I myself do this all the time.

Here are some other great accessories...who wouldn't love that Hermes Bracelet?

Perfect lace skirt...need I say more?

I heart mustard, and not just on my hot dogs.

What can I say about mustard...it's an amazing color, looks great with neutral or black and looks good on every skin tone.

Try wearing a mustard colored top with a black skirt and pumps for chic look during the day.  These neutral pumps are a great edition to this outfit.

One of my favorite tops is this mustard color martini top from revolve clothing.com looks great with jeans. And it's on sale for only $47.

Splash of color adds life to any outfit

All winter long I've been wearing my long blue wool coat. It was a great way to add some color to my usually dark winter wardrobe. And since royal blue seems to be my favorite color this year I decided why not?? The result... lots of compliments about how fun and stylish the blue wool coat really is! Winter fashion success! So add a pop of color to your wardrobe and spice it up a bit.

Try royal blue trench...

Or a pair of bright color pumps to make a black or neutral outfit come to life.

Check out Blair Waldorf in this to die for green coat..great use of color

Spring Trends

So, spring is in the air...and color blocking is "in."  These cool color combos will make you stand out in any crowd.  Just try to avoid the really bright colors so you don't end up looking like the gay pride flag.  Check out some of these great color blocking designer trends from Glamour Magazine spring 2012 most wearable fashion. The first look is by Sophie Theallet, second by Marc by Marc Jacobs, and last by Tommy Hilfiger.

My favorite "must have" piece is this Aqua Color Block skirt from Bloomingdale's.  The Kelly Green/ Black combo with a amazing pleated silhouette will definitely spring you into this year's trend.  It's chic, fun and most of all Affordable at only $68.

Buy it at Bloomingdale's $68, gotta love the price.
